Accreditation

The University of Pittsburgh was first accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education in 1921. Accreditation was last reaffirmed in June 2022. During the standard accreditation review process, the University demonstrates how it meets the accreditation standards, requirements of affiliation, and verification of compliance with accreditation-relevant federal regulations.

In the Disclosures sections, you'll find details about whether our programs meet professional licensure requirements in your state, licensure exam pass rates, our distance education authorization, and the accreditation status of programs across our schools and campuses.
