Investing in Faculty at Every Stage
The Office of Faculty Advancement and Leadership Development supports Pitt faculty at each step of their careers, from recruitment and early faculty life through senior academic leadership.
Led by Vice Provost John Wallace, the team focuses on four core commitments:
- faculty recruitment and retention,
- enhancing the faculty experience,
- professional growth, and
- recognition of faculty contributions.
While Pitt faculty turn to Faculty Affairs for support regarding policies and guidelines, personnel actions, and appeals and grievances for nonrepresented faculty, the Faculty Advancement and Leadership Development team's work is focused on the programs, resources, and communities of practice that help Pitt faculty grow, connect, and thrive throughout their careers.
Following are some of the office's programs and resources that build skills, strengthen community, and recognize faculty contributions across the University.
