At the Faculty Honors Convocation, the University of Pittsburgh gathers to pay tribute to the outstanding achievements of our faculty members that characterize the quality of academic life at the University of Pittsburgh. We also applaud the many contributions that these individuals make to the institution and the local community.

Instructions for Honorees

The following instructions are for everyone who will be honored at the event:

  • All faculty honorees have received an invitation emailed to them, along with a specific RSVP link. Please make sure to respond by Friday, March 25.
     
  • Please arrive at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall by 2:30 p.m. on Friday, April 1. The ceremony begins at 3 p.m.
     
  • Faculty members who are being honored will have reserved seating inside the auditorium. Ushers will be on hand to assist as needed.
     
  • The convocation is open to the public, and your family is encouraged to attend. The celebration of honored faculty continues with a reception immediately following the ceremony at the University Club, Ballroom B. No tickets are necessary.
     
  • If you have a disability and require special accommodations in order to fully participate in the ceremony, please advise the Office of Special Events at 412-624-7100. We ask for your cooperation in notifying us as soon as possible.

When is the Faculty Honors Convocation?
The Faculty Honors Convocation is being held on Friday, April 1, 2022 at 3 p.m.

Where will the Convocation be held?
It will be held at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall, located at 4141 Fifth Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15213.  

Where will the reception be held?
A reception for all honorees will follow immediately after the Convocation in the University Club, Ballroom B, located at 123 University Place.

Who can attend the Convocation?
The Faculty Honors Convocation is open to all faculty members and the campus community. 

Faculty who are being honored have been sent a personalized invitation detailing their participation in the event. Honored faculty members should RSVP via the Faculty Honoree page.  

Other faculty and university community members should RSVP via this general attendee registration page.

Should I wear regalia? 

Regalia is not a part of this ceremony, and it should not be worn at the event.

Are tickets required to attend the ceremony?
The ceremony is open to the public, and families and guests of those faculty being honored are welcome. No tickets are necessary, and families are invited to join honorees at the reception afterwards.

Where can I park?
Paid parking is available in the Soldiers & Sailors Garage and at various University-operated garages on campus. Parking is also available at the metered spaces around Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall.
