Dear Colleagues,
I am very pleased to share that I have promoted Amanda Brodish to Assistant Provost for Institutional Research and Analytics. In this capacity, she will serve on the OTP Cabinet and as a member of the Academic Leadership Team.
Many of you already know Amanda’s outstanding work and leadership. She has been instrumental in advancing data-informed decision-making across the University, overseeing both the Office of Institutional Research and the Data Analytics Team. Through her leadership, Pitt has made tremendous strides in the use of predictive and descriptive analytics to improve operational efficiency and student outcomes. She has also played a key role in the implementation of Pathways, our student success and advising platform, which provides advisors with real-time, data-driven insights to better support students.
Amanda has been a valued member of the Pitt community since 2011, when she joined the Office of the Provost as a data analyst. She later co-founded the Data Analytics Team, which became central to our ability to understand and act upon data in meaningful ways. In 2021, she was named Associate Vice Provost for Data Analytics, assuming additional responsibility for the Office of Institutional Research.
Beyond her professional expertise, Amanda brings a depth of scholarly insight. With a PhD in Social Psychology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, her research has examined the cognitive and health impacts of stereotypes and discrimination. Before joining Pitt, she completed postdoctoral work at the University of Michigan, focusing on the effects of racial discrimination on health and well-being.
I have had the privilege of working closely with Amanda for a number of years, and I can say without hesitation that her impact has been exceptional. I am truly excited about what we will be able to accomplish with Amanda in this new role.
Please join me in congratulating Amanda on this well-deserved promotion.
Regards,
Joe
