Re: Office of General Counsel
As is common in the legal profession, roles continually change as attorneys rotate between managing the practice of law and practicing law. For the past five years, Alan Garfinkel has served the University as both manager and senior attorney in the Office of General Counsel. Alan has decided after much careful thought to focus his role on the practice of law, concentrating all of his energy on representing the University as a senior counselor and forgoing his administrative responsibilities.
All of us are grateful to Alan for all of the hard work he has done for the University, and look forward to working with him in his new role. Jerry Cochran has now assumed the responsibilities of Interim General Counsel, a role he has held in the past. I am alerting you to this change so that you can route communications from your office appropriately.
