I. SCOPE

This policy establishes the criteria for determining academic standing, and includes academic probation, suspension and dismissal.

II. POLICY

The academic standing of an undergraduate student will be maintained and monitored by the school/campus each term a student is enrolled.

Good Academic Standing

Any student not on Academic Probation or Academic Suspension will be in Good Academic Standing.

Academic Probation

A list of students will be provided to a dean or campus president who have completed at least 12 credits and have a cumulative GPA that falls below 2.00 (4.00 scale).

  • The dean or campus president will place such students on academic probation.
  • Only the dean or campus president may remove a student from academic probation.

Academic Suspension

A student who has been on academic probation for a period of time designated by school/campus policy, is liable to suspension, and restricted from registering in the school or regional campus that placed him on academic probation.

  • The student may be allowed to transfer to another school or campus of the University.

Academic Dismissal

A student is not allowed to continue attendance in the school or regional campus that placed them on academic probation.

  • The student may be allowed to transfer to another school or campus of the University.

The academic standing of a graduate or first-professional student will be determined by the Dean of the school and not managed by GPA calculation.
