The following note reasons have been discontinued. Discontinued notes reasons and the associated content are still visible and searchable throughout the Pathways platform; however these note reasons will not appear as an option when creating new notes.

Career - Used to document career aspirations of a student. Can use Experiential Learning.
Enrollment Status Change - This note reason was discontinued prior to Fall 2025. Replaced by the more specific note reasons of Enrollment-Leave of Absence, Enrollment-Reinstatement, Enrollment-Resignation, Enrollment-Schedule Change, etc.
Financial Issue - Used to document any financial issues impacting a student. Can use Other Issue Impacting Academics to document a FERPA compliant financial issue.
International Services Issue - Used to document information relevant to a student’s international status. Can use Other Issue Impacting Academics to document a FERPA compliant issue.
Other - Used for note that doesn’t fit into any of the existing categories.Can use Other Issue Impacting Academics for FERPA compliant issues that do not fit another note reason, or can leave note reason blank if it does not fit into another note reason.
Personal Issue - Used to document academically-relevant personal issues impacting a student. Can use Other Issue Impacting Academics to document a FERPA compliant personal issue.
Student Records - Used to document course approvals, transfer credit review, general education requirements, graduation application, Engineering matrix, etc. Replaced by the more specific Student Records-Exceptions and Approvals, and Student Records-Incoming Credit Review.
Study Abroad - Used to document information regarding study abroad. Can use Experiential Learning.
Veterans Services Issues - Used to document information relevant to a student’s veteran status. Can use Other Issue Impacting Academics.
Walk In - Used to document walk-in visits or informal interactions with a student outside of a scheduled appointment. Users should submit a drop-in ad-hoc appointment summary in place of a note, unless the note needs made visible to the student, in which case Advising Appointment Summary note reason can be used.
