We're proud to announce this year's keynote speaker is Kyle Ross, executive director of NACADA: The Global Community for Academic Advising, a sponsor for this year's summit.

Kyle has served in several leadership roles of the association since he became a member in 2012, including as chair of the Undecided and Exploratory Students Advising Community, division representative on the Council, board member, and president of the Board of Directors. 

He has 12 years of experience in academic advising and advising administration, working with a wide variety of student populations at Washington State University, Eastern Washington University, and Oregon State University.

Kyle has contributed substantially to the scholarly body of academic advising work, presenting more than 50 sessions and publishing articles on the connection between academic advising and student success. 

His research areas of interest include how advisors guide students through parallel planning for and exploration of multiple academic and career pathways to achieve their ultimate goals; incorporating solution-focused counseling techniques in advising conversations; and engaging teams in action research methods to improve understanding around student retention and attrition.

He earned a bachelor’s in psychology from the University of Washington and a master’s in counseling and doctorate in educational leadership from Washington State University.
