Dear Pitt Faculty Members and Students,

In August, the University, in consultation with the Health Care Advisory Group and the COVID-19 Medical Response Office, shared its risk postures and what activities can happen in each. Since the fall term began, the Pittsburgh campus has been in Elevated Risk.

Dear Pittsburgh Campus Students, Faculty and Staff,

This is a September like no other. I continue to be inspired by the resilience, kindness, and determination of our faculty, students, and staff as we work together to navigate the very fluid situation brought about by COVID-19. We are all eager to meet new people and explore the campus—and the world—more freely. We are trying all we can in the terrain we are in.

Pitt is working hard to maximize the teaching and learning experience on campus—and I have a few updates to share.

Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff on the Pittsburgh Campus,

It is always inspiring to see students coming to campus in the fall, many of whom are leaving home for the first time to begin their University and adult-life adventure. Launching into an unknown but promising future requires courage and commitment. That is true this year more than ever.
