Update Regarding Start of Fall Term: Message from the Provost to Pittsburgh Campus Faculty

August 20, 2021

Dear Pittsburgh Campus Faculty Members and Instructors,

The summer seems to have passed swiftly—and during these weeks, we have been working in real time to respond to the continually shifting landscape that the pandemic has presented to us.

I know that this remains a time of stress and unpredictability for us all. The Delta variant is proving to be a very difficult opponent in the fight to control the COVID-19 pandemic. As you may be aware, colleges and universities around the country are changing plans for fall semester teaching and learning.

A Message from Provost Ann E. Cudd to Pitt Faculty (March 1, 2021)

Dear Pitt Faculty Members,

It is the first day of March 2021 and I am reflecting on last March—the month when we united as the Pitt community to quickly pivot in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was the start of what I think we can all agree has been a highly challenging and difficult time. Through intense collaboration and sheer grit, we have been able to persevere and continue to make progress.

Message from the Provost to Pitt Faculty (Jan. 12, 2021)

Dear Pitt Faculty Members,

As we begin a New Year, and with it the spring term, it is certainly clear that the days ahead will be filled with both opportunities and challenges—all of which will require our continued collective flexibility and ongoing kindness to ourselves and others. I am excited to be able to “flex” our academic muscles to galvanize the Pitt educational experience.

A Message from Provost Ann E. Cudd - Nov. 2, 2020

November 2, 202

Dear Panther Nation,

Tomorrow, November 3, 2020, is Election Day.

While many will head to the polls, many others have already voted by mail or in person at a ballot drop-off site. However you choose or have chosen to participate, your vote will help to shape our nation’s priorities and is a critical part of our democratic process. And for those who are not eligible to vote, your perspectives and contributions to our social fabric at this time are greatly valued.
