Ann E. Cudd, dean of the College and Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at Boston University, has been named provost and senior vice chancellor at the University of Pittsburgh. She was elected by the University’s Board of Trustees at its June 29 annual meeting.
The University of Pittsburgh on Friday named Ann E. Cudd, a Boston University dean and a Pitt graduate, as its provost, succeeding Patricia Beeson, who earlier announced her plan to return to teaching.
Ms. Cudd, who will begin her tenure this fall, is dean of the College and Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at BU. The hire was approved by Pitt’s board of trustees as it met on campus.
