The Office of the Provost and Pitt IT have partnered to provide the Pitt community with better tools for tutoring and academic support in the Flex@Pitt model by contracting with TutorOcean to present the resources below for students, advisors, mentors and faculty. 


Virtual Programs

Students can connect with these programs in TutorOcean’s virtual space during the Fall 2020 semester:

  • Academic Support Services for Student-Athletes (ASSSA)
    ASSSA is designed to assist student-athletes with reaching their fullest academic potential and personal development while at the University of Pittsburgh. ASSSA organizes and provides one-on-one and focused (group) tutoring appointments and support for student-athletes. Each student-athlete who is recognized as a formal member of a sports roster is offered access to these services free of charge
  • Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences’ Study Lab
    The Study Lab in The Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences offers tutoring for students enrolled in courses listed on their website. The Study Lab also offers academic coaching sessions and workshops for Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences students.
  • TRIO Student Support Services (SSS)
    TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) is for first generation, income-eligible, and/or disabled students enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh. SSS is a program for all undergraduate students, regardless of school or major. SSS offers a wide range of free services, including individual advising, personal coaching, study skills sessions, and tutoring on a multitude of subjects from statistics to organic chemistry.
  • School of Computing and Information Student Success
    SCI Student Success offers academic support and tutoring for students in the School of Computing and Information.
  • Math Assistance Center (MAC)
    MAC assists with courses ranging from Math 0010 to Math 0413. Some tutors may be able to assist with more courses as available.
  • University of Pittsburgh Johnstown Academic Success Center (ASC)
    The Academic Success Center (ASC) is the home for tutoring services for Pitt-Johnstown students. Tutoring is offered through four ways specifically designed to meet students’ academic needs, with the goal to increase students’ academic success in all content areas.
