Provost's Awards

Each year the Provost recognizes outstanding faculty contributions with the Provost’s Award for Excellence in Doctoral Mentoring, which recognizes faculty mentors who have had the greatest impact on students seeking research doctoral degrees, and the Provost’s Diversity in the Curriculum Award, which recognizes faculty who have successfully integrated diversity and inclusion concepts into their courses and curricula.   A selection committee of faculty and one doctoral student recommend up to four faculty to recognize with the Provost’s Award for Excellence in Doctoral Mentoring.  For the Provost’s Diversity in the Curriculum Award, a faculty selection committee recommend up to five award winners for recognition.  Guidelines for nominations for both awards are distributed to faculty in the fall term.  Information on the Provost’s Award for Excellence in Doctoral Mentoring is available on this website: https://www.provost.pitt.edu/about/committees/university-council-graduate-study/doctoral-mentoring-awards.  Information on the Provost’s Diversity in the Curriculum Award is available on this website: https://teaching.pitt.edu/diversity/diversity-in-the-curriculum-awards/.
