Accommodation of Individuals with Disabilities

The talents, experiences and perspectives of the University's faculty and staff members with disabilities add immeasurably to our campus.  The University is committed to fostering an environment where individuals with disabilities can thrive professionally and takes affirmative action to employ and advance in employment qualified individuals with disabilities.   In addition to this institutional commitment, the University also has a legal obligation and to employ qualified individuals with disabilities.

Disability Resources and Services (DRS), part of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, is the designated University department to determine reasonable accommodations and services on the basis of disability. Through an interactive process, DRS works individually with employees to evaluate requests for accommodations. Faculty and staff are encouraged to contact DRS to discuss individual needs, and employing units should consult DRS when accommodations are requested, telephone 412-648-7890.  Additional information can be found here:
