Announcement
Dear Colleagues:
Dr. Elizabeth U. Baranger has served the University of Pittsburgh with diligence and spirit for over 40 years. Professor of Physics since 1968 and former Dean of Graduate Studies in Arts and Sciences, Dr. Baranger has been the University’s Vice Provost for Graduate Studies since 1989. With regret, I have accepted her wish to retire from administrative life in the summer of 2004.
Dr. Baranger will continue in her current position during the 2003-2004 academic year, working with a slightly reduced workload. I will begin soon to consider my options for replacement for this position on my senior staff.
