A Message from Provost Ann E. Cudd

December 19, 2018

Dear Panther Nation,

This Fall semester marked the first in my new role as Provost. I am grateful, humble, and inspired by what I have experienced. On every Pitt campus, so much has been achieved by faculty, students, and staff. To these excellent efforts, I'd like to add my sincere respect, encouragement, and appreciation.

Undoubtedly, we have worked through some very eventful days.  We have shared both exhilarating and deeply tragic moments. Through each of them we have stood firmly together—because, as I remember from my earliest days as a Pitt student, that is what our community does. And it is what makes us strong.

I wish you a peaceful, happy, and safe winter break—and I really look forward to all we will accomplish in the New Year ahead.

Hail to Pitt!

Ann E. Cudd
Provost and Senior Vice Chancellor
