Having had the opportunity to participate fully in the dynamic development of the University in recent years, Vice Provost Robert F. Pack is immensely proud of Pitt and of his association with it. As Vice Provost for Academic Planning and Resources Management, Dr. Pack is responsible for the overall coordination of academic planning within the University and its effective integration with resource allocation. He also has oversight on student athlete academic issues. Dr. Pack is a member of the Pitt-UPMC Joint Policy Advisory Committee on Network Security. He also serves as the University's Privacy Officer to ensure compliance with the HIPAA regulations regarding medical records.
Dr. Pack has overall budget and space management within the Provost’s Area and is extensively involved in University-wide budgeting and capital planning for both academic and student life facilities. His overall responsibility is to ensure that the University’s strategic goals are advanced through the systematic utilization of its varied resources. Illustrations of the exercise of this responsibility include the significant role Dr. Pack has played in the development of enhanced student recreation and residence hall facilities and in the integration of the arts into student life through Pitt Arts. He is currently the Project Director for PeopleSoft Student Administration System Implementation, responsible for the new Enterprise Student Information System.
