Multidisciplinary

A defining characteristic of scholarship at the University of Pittsburgh is the opportunity for teams of eminent researchers to work together on major problems, to integrate and synthesize their scholarship. An important part of the University’s mission is to extend the range of human knowledge; doing so involves a willingness to think beyond traditional research boundaries and create productive academic partnerships.

The links below point toward some of the more formally organized research partnerships at the University as well as resources, such as the Faculty Research Interests Project (FRIP) and the collection of research excellence stories appearing in the Pitt Chronicle, to help new faculty identify prospective research and scholarship partners.
