Faculty Development

Faculty play a central role in the University of Pittsburgh, and the Office of the Provost provides a number of professional development opportunities to promote faculty success at Pitt.

The Faculty Offices in the Office of the Provost offer a number of programs and events designed to promote and strengthen academic leadership, help prepare Pitt faculty to become strong and successful academic leaders, and provide current academic leaders with the tools and resources they need. 

National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity (NCFDD)

Pitt's institutional member status with the National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity (NCFDD), a nationally recognized, independent organization, enables you to take advantage of the online career development and mentoring resources it provides for faculty, postdocs, and graduate students.

Provost’s Diversity Institute for Faculty Development

The Provost’s Diversity Institute for Faculty Development was created to offer University of Pittsburgh faculty the opportunity to increase awareness about diversity and develop skills needed to teach in a diverse, multicultural environment. ACC Academic Leaders Network (ALN)

The ACC Academic Leaders Network (ALN) program is an exciting collaborative leadership program for faculty at ACC institutions who aspire to leadership roles in higher education.
