Office of the Provost

Announcement

July 18, 2008

Dear Colleagues:

Dr. Diane Davis, Director of the University’s Center for Instructional Development and Distance Education (CIDDE), will be retiring at the close of this calendar year. Dr. Davis has served as Director of CIDDE since its inception in 1995. As the founding director, she successfully merged faculty support and instructional technology services into a Center that now serves as a primary contact point for instructional services and for the development and support of distance education programs.

Dr. Davis, who earned her doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Education, served as an educational consultant to the Pennsylvania Medical Society, assisting in the evaluation and accreditation of continuing education programs. Prior to her appointment as Director of CIDDE, she served as the Director of the University External Studies Program (UESP). During her years as director of CIDDE and UESP, she has taught as an adjunct instructor in the School of Education’s Department of Instruction and Learning.

It has been a pleasure to work with Dr. Davis, and we all wish her well in her retirement.

Sincerely,

James V. Maher
