Information Technology Steering Committee

The Information Technology Steering Committee (ITSC) guides the development of a strong technology environment to address the University of Pittsburgh’s computing and information technology needs, positioning the University to maintain and enhance its role as a leader in a wide variety of disciplines and professions affected by technology.

Chaired by the Provost, the ITSC is charged with developing broad policy recommendations across the spectrum of information technology planning. The Director of Computing Services and Systems Development provides to the Committee regular reports on the University’s technology environment. The ITSC prepares and reviews on a regular basis the University’s strategic information technology plan and recommends funding for the successful accomplishment of that plan. In addition, it recommends the annual distribution of the student network services fee within the context of the strategic plan.

Members of the ITSC include senior administrators, deans, faculty representatives from the Senate Computer Usage and Library committees, a staff member nominated by the Staff Association Council, and a student representative.
